The EOS R5 Mark II is an impressive successor to the incredibly versatile EOS R5 camera body, bringing a host of new features and technologies that make this the most powerful EOS 5 series camera ever. It starts with a brand-new Canon manufactured, Full-frame 45MP sensor that is back illuminated and stacked for blazingly fast read-out speeds that allow for up to 30 fps continuous shooting speeds in electronic shutter, then builds on that with major autofocus improvements, increased video capabilities, and so much more.

Totally New Image Sensor

Even though the pixel count is the same as the EOS R5 camera body, this is a completely new 45MP sensor design with a redesigned architecture. This new full-frame sensor is stacked and back-illuminated allowing for incredible electronic shutter performance of 30 fps in RAW, JPEG or HEIF format.

DIGIC Accelerator

The DIGIC Accelerator processor is a completely new front-engine processor, developed by Canon to supplement the powerful DIGIC X image processor. The DIGIC Accelerator handles the processing that makes many of the new features of this camera possible, allowing the DIGIC X image processor to focus solely on image processing. Together they combine for high-precision focusing, with incredible speed at high-image quality.

Faster Readout Speed

The faster readout speed of the back illuminated and stacked full-frame CMOS image sensor in the EOS R5 Mark II, has reduced the rolling shutter distortion by about 60% compared to the previous EOS R5 camera body.
